Ajay Rai, the Congress candidate from Varanasi, landed in trouble early this morning for wearing his party's symbol near the polling station. The BJP has complained to the Election Commission against him.
Mr Rai is the third contestant in the high profile Varanasi constituency, where, it is widely believed, the main battle is between the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
When he came to cast his vote today, Mr Rai was seen wearing the Congress' symbol, the hand, prominently on his kurta.
